We first met Amy and her little girl early morning at a cafe in Mount Eliza. Over warm drinks we learnt about Amy’s wonderful relationship of many years to Dave, and their dreams for a wedding at Gum Gully Farm in Silvan. This laid back couple had their hearts set on a wedding at this gorgeous farm and were happy to wait until a date was available to them.
Amy and Dave were willing to plan most of the details of their day but knew that they would need a hand pulling it all together and keeping it running smoothly. We came on board 6 weeks out to lock in the details of her suppliers, cross check she had thought of every element and guided her through some things she had missed and finalised the run sheet with Sue at Gum Gully Farm. With the annual tulip festival happening nearby over the same weekend we also advised all suppliers to take this into account for their timely travels.
Amy had been very organised and along with the help of her family and friends they spent the day prior setting up decorations at the venue. A gorgeous rustic property filled with lots of jars of pretty flowers, fairylights and candles, it was the perfect setting for the couple’s celebrations.
We arrived early in the afternoon of the wedding to set out some of the final decorations, using our editing eye to ensure all looked perfect. We got the music for the ceremony ready and did some last minute running around for little things the couple thought of! Heading upstairs we visited Amy and her bridal party as they were getting ready and they were abuzz with excitement! Meanwhile Dave arrived downstairs and reassured everyone that he was calm and feeling great. Bless him!
The chapel was dressed with gorgeous florals and the last of the guests were finding their seats, Amy and her daughter as her flowergirl and her young son ready to walk his mum down the aisle were in place. Cue the music and the beautiful couple had an amazing ceremony full of love, laughter and happy tears.
Let the pre-reception entertainment begin! Beautiful canapés were served by Yarra Valley Catering with the drinks provided by Amy and Dave. The venue staff were brilliant in looking after all aspects of the venue on the night. This property is wonderful if you have lots of small children at your wedding, with a farm tour provided to see all the animals.
It was amazing to share in the wedding of Amy and Dave and we wish we could do it all again!
Here are some of our favourite photo highlights from this wedding – Photo credit goes to Sean and Danni Wedding Photographers.

The cute little flowergirl, the couples daughter, almost stole the show as she stumbled but regained her composure walking down the aisle. It’s hard work being a flowergirl!
