It’s fair to say that there are a lot of factors to consider when creating your guest list. Venue capacity, budget, and even family dynamics. Here are a few tips to help you get through your guest list, with a little less stress.
Decide what type of wedding you plan to have – a big wedding, something small and intricate, something in between? From there you can work to an idea of guest numbers.
The Venue That Suits
You may have your heart set on a venue, its always a good idea to check the minimum and maximum guest numbers they allow, so you don’t invite too many guests than can fit. Alternatively, you may wish to find a venue that fits the amount of guests you plan to invite.
Is there a guest that you’re only inviting because you went to their wedding 8 years ago? Or your friends, friends, friend? You only have to invite the guests who are important to you.
This can go either way, whether you choose to invite them or not. As a general rule if you’re trying to keep numbers down, we recommend missing the work invites. Unless they are people you see on your weekends, that likely aren’t close enough to require an invite.
You don’t have to invite them all! We recommend inviting the ones you are close with only, keeping in mind there are some you may need to invite, due to parent requests etc.
This can be tricky one! As a general rule, when trying to keep the numbers down only invite long-term partners, not plus ones for guests wishing to bring a date.
Happy Planning! x
