After all the hard work and emotions that go into planning a wedding, you’ve earned a bit of R&R once it’s all over. Cue the honeymoon. But there are a few things to consider before you book in that trip away, to celebrate as newlyweds. Here are some answers to the big questions you may be thinking about.
When Should We Go?
Tradition says that the newlyweds set off straight away, after they leave their wedding reception, they head straight for the airport. But that’s not the most practical in most cases. A wedding can be exhausting, and it can be a good idea to delay your trip a little, even if it’s by just a day. It will give you time to pack properly, drop off all of your wedding gear. You may also choose to delay it by a few months, giving you time to recover the bank account before jet-setting off around the world.
Who Plans It?
The honeymoon used to be planned by the groom, as a secret surprise for the bride, not knowing a thing until she arrives at their destination. But it’s definitely a mission to pack for a mystery trip, a near impossible task. It’s great to do it together as a couple, so you can got to the places you really want to see as a couple.

Why not have a mini-moon? Even if you have to wait for your big trip, take a long weekend or a few days to get away and recover from all of the excitement. A little amount of time to by newly-weds before getting back to reality.
