A ‘first look’ is a moment where the bride & groom see each other for the first time on your wedding day, before the ceremony begins. Here are a few reasons why you should consider a first look.
Get rid of the nerves
The walk down the aisle is a big moment, and seeing each other before the ceremony can be a nerve calmer.
A private moment
It’s so easy to get swept away with all of the wedding activities on the day, that it can be very rare to get a quiet moment to yourselves as the newly wed bride & groom. A first look will give you this opportunity before the guests arrive.
No audience, no time restraints, no happy snapping relatives stepping into the frame during the first look. It will make for a much more relaxed experience.
You may like to arrive to your ceremony with groom in hand, and even have him walk you down the aisle. Since the big reveal has already happened, there’s no hiding from the groom before you walk down the aisle.
Get the party started earlier
Don’t like the thought of your guests hanging around while you have your photos done? This is a great way to go straight from ceremony to reception or enjoy cocktail hour with your guests. During your first look time, you can get all of the bridal party & location photos out of the way.
