What you thought was going to be a simple task, this is one that often gets out of hand. Here are some rules to follow, to make the whole process a simple one for both you and your girls!
Do some research, and start having a look at some styles that you like, and some store options that are suitable.
Decide on a budget right from the start
If you’re paying for the dresses, work out exactly how much you can afford to spend per dress. If the girls are paying, they need to come to an agreement together on how much they are able to spend on their dresses.
Remember to budget for alterations
It’s very rare that a dress won’t have to be altered, and it’s important that it fits right and your girls are comfortable on the day. Remember to allow some room in the budget for this.
Leave yourself plenty of time
It will be no fun for any of you if you’re all racing around like mad the week before the wedding trying to find 3 dresses in the right sizes! Allow plenty of time to find the dresses, even more if you’re having them made.
Measurements with a seamstress
If something is being made or you’re ordering dresses online, make sure each girl goes to a professional to have her measurements taken. It will be costly if the dresses aren’t the right fit, and it’s an easy thing to do incorrectly.
