Most brides don’t realise how expensive wedding flowers can become. It often means you can’t quite have everything you had hoped for – or does it? We have a few tricks up our sleeve, that help reduce that flower budget without compromising on look.
place strategically
Think about where you really need arrangements – focus your budget there. And where you can go without or utilise smaller arrangements. Consider the areas that you and your guests will spend the most time, this is usually really helpful when deciding where to place your arrangements.
be flexible
Allow your florist to select what’s freshest and in season the week of your wedding. Show them the look, feel, and colours you would like to have, and leave the rest to them! You will get much more value for your spend. The cost of importing peonies in winter, for example, will come with a hefty price tag, so keep this in mind.
quality over quantity
Lesser incredible arrangements over more smaller, cheaper arrangements. The impact and wow-factor will be so much more. Don’t feel like you have to fill the entire room with flowers.
consider silk
When we’re talking about table centrepieces, good quality silk arrangements aren’t much of a cost cutter. However, if you’re wanting to have something hung from the ceiling or wrapped around a huge staircase, consider a high-quality silk option. It will save in cost, and more often than not, it holds better than fresh in these high-impact areas.
add in foliage
The best and simplest way to bulk out your flower budget. It’s a neutral item that enhances the flowers you are using and increases the size of your arrangements without too much cost.
