We love flowers! We would love for every flower to be available all year around. Unfortunately, most flowers don’t continuously bloom as much as we wish they would. However there is still so much choice across the months and we have put together our top picks, one for each month of the year! Our eyes were full to the brim with flower pollen and we hope these images inspire your styling.
Our pick for January is a pretty flower called Lisianthus. This flower complements and works within any floral arrangement quite easily. It is in season from October through to May and can come in white, cream, green, purple, pink. We just love this one!
One of our favourite roses is the David Austin Rose! It is such a stunning flower. This rose flowers for a long time as well it is almost all year around expect for the winter months of June, July & August. We chose to highlight it as our favourite summer flower for the month of February.
The Scabiosa is beautiful in all 3 stages of growth. From a budding flower, to full bloom and even after flowering, this is one gorgeous flower. It is a great filler for a bouquet and is found from November through to the start of April. The colours range from deep blue, light blue, Muave/lilac & White. Pictured is the blue, pink and dried brown Scabiosa flower.
April’s top flower choice is the Amaranthus. Imagine standing under an archway or being seated under this gorgeous hanging floral installation. It is perfect for draping, creating a romantic and luxurious setting. The Amaranthus is in season from late January until the end of April.
Our pick for the month of May is the Tulip. The meaning of tulips is perfect love, we have to agree. With such an array of colours available these romantic and beautiful flowers can often work with any colour scheme! The Tulip is available from February through to November.
From the buttercup family the Delphinium flower is most widely known for the tall spikes of blue flowers. This June pick is a gorgeous long stem of flowers and is perfect for adding height and dimension to any floral display. Available all year except for April, September & October.
Trachelium flowers bloom in clusters and have a soft gentle look. These flowers look great stand alone in a small vase or wonderfully as an addition to your bouquet. Available January, February, June, July, September, October and November, it’s easily accessible and we would love a bunch on our desk today!
With its richly coloured yet small, delicate petal, the Sweet Pea is a soft and blissful flower. This enchanting flower remains a favourite fragrant blossom and flowers from late July to the end of November and is perfect for a soft relaxed bride.
The Ranunculus is a radiant charming flower and was a must pick for September. This flower almost looks too perfect to be real. Flowering only during late August and September we love choosing this one for pretty bouquets.
We love Peonies and we know most of you do as well! One of the most popular flowers for weddings, this gem only flowers from late October through to the end of December. We know of brides who have chosen their special day to fall within these months so that they can have this gorgeous flower!
This soft and romantic flower is so beautiful. Our November pick is the Freesia with their wirey stems and delicate blooms, it’s not surprising that one of the most popular Freesia varieties is named the Ballerina. The best thing about this flower is that it is available almost all year around except for January.
Hydrangeas are our final top pick for the year and for the month of December. This gorgeous flower comes in green, white, pink, purple and blue. Amazing as a filler or stand alone this flower is in season from November through to April.
