Mother of the bride, Mary, first contacted us to discuss the possibility of a marquee wedding for her gorgeous daughter Kate. Marquee weddings are often considered expensive and because of this many couples shy away from this dream setting. Constructing a venue in your backyard or commercial paddock needs a lot of specialised design and planning. From the practical considerations of power, water, lighting, kitchen facilities and guest amenities, to the style challenges of being in (by every practical sense) a tent!
Marquee weddings however, are our speciality, and throwing all our creative and budget busting tricks together, we delivered a stunning day for this lovely couple, creating memories they will keep for a lifetime.
The jewel in the crown was a Clear Spun marquee with its gorgeous floral feature, cascading down from recycled wooden sleepers which hung from the marquee ceiling. Three long beautiful tables set to perfection created a simple elegance, reflective of our couple’s personal style.
Our favourite moment was catching a glimpse of Kate, embraced in the arms of her father, and looking on at the beautiful result of all our work. They were delighted with the outcome, and the pride on, Peter (Kate’s Dad’s) face is a moment that will resonate and stay with us forever.
The beautiful flower girl’s dresses were made by Mary, Kate’s mum, and like many of their creative ideas will remain a special memory for mother and daughter.
The wedding was held at the stunning property of Kate’s Uncle and Aunt and Kate walked down a grass aisle, edged in beautiful flowers. She wore a stunning custom gown, and met with Tom in the gorgeous Chapel surrounded by rose gardens.
The heavens opened straight after the ceremony. However, we were on hand to help guests across to the marquee. After making it through the puddles, splashing and full of giggles, we loved listening to the gasps, oohs and ahh’s, as guests entered the beautiful marquee reception.
A dreamy evening followed with guests dancing to the smooth band while surrounded by twinkling fairy lights and sipping Veuve bubbly.
Although a lot of work goes into the planning and design for marquee weddings, the result is always so beautiful it never ceases to amaze both our clients and us.
